Two Lodges and One Chapter

OT Lodge Crest by Michael Griffin

There are two Masonic Lodges associated with the School.

First is the Old Tauntonian Lodge, which was formed in 1938 by a group of OTs and staff who were already Freemasons.

It is a London Lodge, meeting at Freemasons' Hall in Great Queen Street four times a year, in February, March, October and December.

The Old Tauntonian Lodge is a member of the Public School Lodges' Council.

Master of the Lodge for the year 2007/2008 is Paul Reed (TS 1943/56)

Secretary of the Lodge is John Ingram-Johnson (TS 1951/58) and you are welcome to email him at any time for more information or anything else you would like to ask or say about Freemasonry.

Membership of both these 'Craft' Lodges is open to male Old Tauntonians and members of staff aged 21 years and above.

Joining members from other Lodges are particularly welcomed.

A Royal Arch Chapter is attached to the Old Tauntonian Lodge in London.  It meets twice a year in April and November at Mark Masons' Hall in St. James's Street.

The Royal Arch is an important extension to 'Craft' Masonry and membership is open to all OT Masons.

In the Chair for 2006/2007 is Paul Reed (TS 1943-56)

The Secretary is David Hughes (TS 1957-69) who will be pleased to answer any questions about Chapter.
